typing

With search engine optimization there are a lot of common misconceptions in the marketplace. Business owners like yourself can become confused by online marketing agencies using technical jargon to explain SEO.

At Kala Digital our goal is to help you demystify the process of SEO for you. Below are the three most common myths in the marketplace about Search Engine Optimization.

1. SEO is difficult

Some digital marketing salespeople are notorious for confusing the customer. They may use words like meta tags, sitemap and robot.txt files to confuse the customer into thinking that Search Engine Optimization is a highly difficult process.

Whilst it is true that SEO requires some technical knowledge and skill, it is not difficult once you know what you are doing.

You should also be aware of online marketing companies, who provide a too simplistic view of search engine optimization or claim to have a “network” of websites.
2. SEO is not a process

There are three parts to a successful search engine optimization campaign.

  1. Website Architecture
  2. Link Building
  3. Content Creation

After the initial setup of your search engine optimization campaign. The link building part of your campaign is merely a process. To explain it in simplistic terms, seo companies have the process of finding other popular websites, and linking them back to your website.

Your website then gains, in popularity in Google’s eyes, as the “power of association” kicks in.

3. Your company should do things just to satisfy Google.

There is also a belief that you should create content to for contents’ sake. If your company believes this to be true, you are missing the point of Google.

Because you do not have time to produce content is not a reason to produce content for contents’ sake. In the long run, poorly produced content will destroy your brand and reputation.

You or your internet marketing providers primary role, is to provide content that satisfies your users. Content that your consumers love to read, to engage with and to promote to their friends and family.

If you are creating content that your customers love, as a byproduct you will satisfy Google!
